About
Abigail Fernald is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health care. After earning a Master’s in Social Work from Concord University in 2020, she began her career as a Child and Family Therapist in 2021. In 2023, she took the next step by opening her own private practice, offering both telehealth and in-person services to individuals 16 and older in the state of Virginia. Before starting her private practice, Abigail gained valuable experience working on a crisis hotline for a local community services board. This role strengthened her ability to support individuals in high-stress situations, allowing her to develop crisis intervention skills and a deep understanding of mental health challenges. Now, in her practice, Abigail uses a client-centered, evidence-based approach to help individuals navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, and more. She incorporates a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness to support clients in managing their mental health symptoms. Her dedication to providing a safe, supportive space ensures that clients receive the guidance, resources, and care they need to build resilience and achieve personal growth.
